Pop up blocker.

Post by Dale Gray »

Go to a news page or some other info page to look at a current news item, and another smaller window pops up in the middle of the screen saying, you might be interested in this. Any ideas? Am running Ubuntu 12.04. Thanks Dale.

One word... T R O J A N... at least with Ubuntu, it's probably not too big of a deal.

If you are running Firefox browser, you might check to see that it is updated and that the pop up blocker is working.

If the "popup" is actually a window within the web page, it is not a pop-up, but a pop-over ad. These are JavaScript overlays. The NoScript Add-on will stop these and all other functions that depend on JavaScript. If you are unable to install it directly from within Firefox, read this documentation.
