Win8.1Pro Sleep Issues?

Not sure if this has been discussed before.........

Running a refurbished HP 'puter with the Win8.1 Pro upgrade OS along with Haupaugge HVR-2250 video cards and Windows Media Center to record and save broadcast programs. This machine is not now and will rarely ever be connected to the internet. I have run a "decrapyifyer" program to weed out (hopefully) all the nonsensical stuff HP installed.

I can engage the sleep mode just fine however once a scheduled event has been recorded it will not go back into sleep mode. This is relatively new because it would emerge and then revert back to sleep mode two weeks or so ago.

Nothing new has been added that might cause this, to my knowledge anyway. This machine did come with a wireless keyboard and mouse with the USB receiver but that has long ago been put aside.

Any ideas what to check for etc? BTW this can be re-connected to the 'net but its daily use doesn't require that so its purposely left off line.
