Febreeze and sit it outside in the sun for a day.

Febreeze is not a cleaner, only an odor eliminator.

Had the same issue with a Gibson 355, I used baking soda, and a dryer laundry sheet. Took about two weeks, but did the trick.

Good luck. I once bought a 12-string guitar on eBay from a guy in Canada. When I opened the case I was overpowered with the smell of stale tobacco. Not only did the case smell, but the smell had even permeated the guitar and the strap. For weeks I tried everything, but to no avail. Eventually I gave the guitar away to someone who smoked, and he's quite happy with it.
I guess the price was right.

Try Nok-Out. You can only get it on line and is kind of pricey but is advertized to remove any organic based odor. It eliminates the odor not cover it up with a fragrance like Febreeze. I use it at home on odors like pet urine.
Go to amazon and order a quart in a spray bottle for 20 bucks plus shipping. Worth a try.

I used the Scotch scrubbing pads NOT steel wool(which can get the filings into the changers and bearing places). It is best to pull each rod out to clean and after rods are out of the way, then scrub all the mechanism parts. Once the nicotine gunk is all off I never had any smell remaining on guitar.
For the case use a foam spray-on carpet cleaner, and let dry in the sun.
Thanx,
Jim

OMG! Fabreeze? That stuff stinks like a cheap French trollop! Go to Lowe's and get some some ZorbX. No coverup stink like Fabreeze! Works instantly. No smell to it whatsoever. Jeeze, Fabreeze stinks! Using Fabreeze is like covering up bad breath by eating raw garlic! Products do improve, and Fabreeze is so 20th century.
ZORBX!!
