Switching my 6th string to wound. Question
Switching due to the fact that I do not lower G# to F#.
I had used wound 6th strings on my old ZB but it's been a while.
So if I am running a 20 Ga. plain 6th string. Should the wound also be 20 Ga. or a bigger size.
Thanks

My apologies--.024 is what I use too. I went back to plain on my Fess and haven't played my Bud in a while so my brain was rusty.
I arrived at .024 after trying .022 because I'm still lowering the string and the heavier gauge helps keep the lever throw manageable...only barely. Also, the 24" scale of the Bud can benefit by heavier gauge.
