Randy is a great player on either steel or guitar. This should be a good meeting.
I know Gayle and Barbara Huey will be here, visiting from their new home in Dallas.

I'm going to miss this one, as much as I hate to. Randy, the Victoria Flash, is one of my favorite people and a great musician!

I want to be there so bad. But, I doubt if I can muster up enough energy to make it. I'll at least be there in spirit. I've set down to my guitar several time in the past several days and I just cannot get my fingers, hands, legs and feet to do anything right.
Oh well, I knew that this was probably gonna happen and it has,,,big time. Gang, it sure has put a large wrinkle in my life as far as what I can or cannot do.
The doctors say that I don't have much time left and I'm OK with that. I just wish and hope that I don't become more of an invalid than I am right now. It's extreemly hard on my wife Toni as well as frinds and family.
Boys, it's been a great ride and I'd do it all over again. I just hope that I havn't done anybody wrong or caused anyone too many problems.
I love you all and want to thank all of you for being such a good friend to me over the many years.
May you be as blessed as I have been.
I'll try to keep you informed as much as I can.
Heck, you never know,,,I've beat this thing once, maybe with a little luck, I can do it again.
Take care and do your best to make who and what you are something that helps other people along the way.

Your words were heartfelt Bobby. I talked to Tilly, he said your biopsy wasn't good. We can't live forever, only in Gods world. What we do and the people we touch in life is what counts. You my friend have achieved this and more. May the rest of you life be filled with peace and happiness.

Bobby you will be missed. Prayers for you, family and friends. You have touched many and glad to call you a friend. Each time I hear What a friend we have in Jesus you always come to my mind. Growing up I heard that song many time. You made the song really touch people. God bless you and keep you. cling to that saving hand.

Bobby, my friend, I knew when you didn't make it to Dallas that your condition must have gotten worse. Your comments here tell it all and I was moved by your candid comments. I am pulling for you and hope, you can pull it off. I know Toni must be struggling too. Get well, we miss you.

Was a good jam, and great to see our pal Bobby Bowman! Toni too...

Randy played great, and I was especially enthralled to hear and watch Nightlife being played on both necks by two masterful players.

Good times, indeed.

We had a great meeting with a wonderful crowd and lots of good steel guitar.

We also had a couple unexpected guests:
Gale & Barbara Huey were in town from the Dallas area and came to see everyone.

Also, Bobby Bowman didn't play for us but it was a treat to see Bobby & Toni at the meeting.
Remember the Bobby Bowman Benefit on Sunday April 27th at the Track Shack.
Also, remember to call Toni if you have items to donate to the auction. See details at the bottom of this note.

SETexas Steel Guitar Club Meeting

Post by Randy Boyd »

Thanks to Billy and Patty Phelps for the good job of making this month's meeting happen! Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Also, thanks to my buddy, Skeeter Nash, for riding shotgun with me, helping out on the drums, and belting out some great vocals. As usual, I enjoyed all the players, their music and fellowship.

Then, to top it off, Bobby Bowman popped in and really got everyone going. Bobby always seems to bring out the best in everyone. Thanks, Bobby!

Many thanks to Billy and Patty for sponsoring another great meeting and jam session. Great job by the featured player Randy Boyd. It seems Randy gets better each time I hear him play. It is always a pleasure getting together with other pickers and do what we enjoy doing on steel guitar. The only thing that would have made this jam complete was if Bobby B. was sitting behind that red Emmons PP. A great time for all, and good to see Bobby since he had to miss Dallas this year, but paid a visit to the Katy jam. Hope to see you all again soon.
