Now if he wore a leather outfit like Gene Vincent that would have been somethingHerb Steiner wrote:The most recent time I saw the Time Jumpers, that was Vince Gill's stage outfit, exactly! That look has been going on since the 60's and was made popular by Gram Parsons.Herb Steiner wrote:If you need to know what type of musician is Manuel's typical customer now, a visit to his shop in N'ville will tell you. His custom shirts hanging on the racks mostly have embroidered and rhinestoned marijuana leaves, pills, joints, etc.
Most likely those very expensive duds are worn above very expensive torn and bleached skin tight jeans and t-shirts that are not tucked in.
Just sayin'...

VG had the same kit on this evening with the Jumpers at 3rd & Lindsley. He had a raspy sore throat and with the shorts looked a very forlorn figure. I hope he is better tomorrow night at the Ryman.Herb Steiner wrote:The most recent time I saw the Time Jumpers, that was Vince Gill's stage outfit, exactly! That photo is iconic and epitomises everything about presentation of older style country bands in that era. Ol' Willie sure looks handsome in that picture. I saw him at Long Hollow outside Nashville last week, and he has changed considerably. But then, we all haveQuentin Hickey wrote:

For the life of me I don't understand why anyone wants to glorify the drug culture like Gram Parsons did.I've seen the effects up close and personal of what it can do to a person. That was the FBB's thing with the psycadellic nudie suits though, and I guess I could see how someone would want to pay homage to them. I dig Nudie suits. The Supurlatives always look classy in 'em,and they are a class act !Herb Steiner wrote:If you need to know what type of musician is Manuel's typical customer now, a visit to his shop in N'ville will tell you. Well,Gram is not available for comment. His silence on the issue probably makes the strongest statement that could be made.Me,I'd suppose that all the drug-related imagery on this kind of stagewear is neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things and it depends on one's own opinion of the by-now mainstream "counterculture".I'm certain, though, that the guys wearing drug-related stage clothing have stringent band rules against performing while impaired.Dustin Rigsby wrote:For the life of me I don't understand why anyone wants to glorify the drug culture like Gram Parsons did.I've seen the effects up close and personal of what it can do to a person. Rick Akin & Greg Jones @ Renfro Valley, Ky. The "Three Amigos minus one" in the autograph line after the show. As you have guessed by now Mom and Dad are very proud of his 20 plus playing music. I think we enjoyed it as much as he did. He still has all the outfits and they still fit, he still wears one sometimes when he subs for someone or does a gig like at Mike Siglers show.
