I am inspired by the diverse collection of steel-guitars displayed in this thread. ALL of them are beautiful, as well as their players, and I project and pray that their progeny will continue the steel guitar era into the infinite future.

The Triple neck Sho-Bud

Post by Bernie Gonyea »

Charlie Smith : What a restoration job on this guitar; a superb job, man. What kind of tuning on all three necks ? I love the trim work all over the guitar. The top neck must sound great. Would love to hear it sometime. Bernie

Hello! I'm a new member, and I have three steel guitars. First I bought a console four years ago (Remington Steelmaster D8 .. approximately 2008). Next up was a pedal (this summer I found a great deal on a 1973 Sho-Bud Pro II PSG). Then I decided I had to have a lap, and settled on a 1951 National Special 8 String Electric Hawaiian Guitar.

Its great to have the variety of guitars, and setups ready to go as needed. Things I learn on any one of them seem to energize me to do try new things on the others. In particular, the music theory and harmonized scales etc I'm learning on E9 pedal port over to console and lap, with a little thought. Trying to also play some of the Western swing tunes I learned with C6 tab for non-pedal on the E9 neck. Its all fun!

Look after that guitar Jimmy - I loved it and took that photo of it in my garden. It is a beauty, but I am surprised you bought it with your back. It's not light. I would like to see it end up with someone who loves it as much as I did, and who plays it out and looks after it for many years. :D
Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E,

Larry - I Ordered this new in 1982

Post by Zeke Cory »

I have seen a few "non-standard" colored LDG's and I have to say they are a great little guitar, good sound, and not to heavy to carry. Now I play Super Pro's cause I love the C6th stuff. I love the Sho-Bud sound and feel. Despite the inherent pot metal issues I hear about, I have broken only one knee lever bracket in 40+ years on all the Sho-Buds I own. That was on the Red LDG. Other than that, they are great guitars with a respectable history. Best Regards.
