Mosquito Hop

Post by Chris Templeton »

I believe I posted this a while ago, but not in this section. Here here is a song I wrote in honor of Jerry Byrd: http://thetapper.bandcamp.com/track/mosquito-hop.
It is done in C6. Victor Wooten plays bass, Raymond Massey on drums, & Joseph Wooten on piano and accordion. The pic is of Jerry and speedy and Leonard T. Zinn in the background.

I've always wondered who the mystery man (red shirt) behind Speedy was?
It's too bad a recorded roundtable discussion with such steel luminaries like these never happened, or has been presented if such ever did. We got a lot from these guys but it might have been even better had somebody been brave enuf to put something together.

Leonard is our only hope of finding who that is. I'd love to know what Jerry was saying to Speedy too.
I also get a kick out of the look on Leonard's face. Witnessing some very, very heavy steel guitar cats interacting with each other. :0)
