Where's the buttons?

Post by Dale Gray »

Where did those pointed buttons on the right side of a page go? The buttons you click on to move a page up or down?

Scrolling slider with buttons is part of the browser's visual interface (or chrome), so either the page is too short to need scrolling, or you have somehow turned off that part of the visual interface in your browser (possible to do in some browsers).

What browser do you use?

Close and re-open your browser. Go to a page that should cause vertical scrollbars to appear. If they don't appear, reboot your personal confuser.

Are the vertical scroll buttons missing on all sites or just the forum?

Try a different browser and see what happens. You say you use Google so you must be using the Google Chrome Browser. Try Internet Explorer or Firefox and see if you have the same problem.

If all of them are missing it may be you have expanded your video display too far and its off the screen.

Just move the browser page a little to the left by grabbing the blue color bar at the top.
The scroll bar might be off-screen.

Scroll Bars Missing

Post by Royce Sides »

I too am missing the scroll bar arrows. It appears to only be when I am on the Forum. I switched to IE and they are OK there. It's only when using Google Chrome this happens. Anyone have any ideas.

Actually, those arrows seem to be missing in Google Chrome - version 32.xx anyway. Vertical scrollbar is there though, and clicking top or bottom of that scrollbar line works the same with or without those arrows.

I've been dealing with this problem for a while - it is a known problem with Chrome. For me, they are missing on every page. It is only a problem on some blogs that do not have page breaks, but just one long, continuous page - impossible to slide slowly - the slightest movement of the scroll bar jumps several screens down. clicking above or below moves a full page, often splitting a photo or text. If Chrome does not resolve it soon, I will probably go back to Firefox.

I always use a mouse with scroll-wheel, which of course works the same for all browsers and other software. So although I have used Google Chrome extensively the last few days while debugging web designs, I didn't notice the missing arrows until now :\
