Band In A box Version 2014

Post by Rick Campbell »

I got mine yesterday. BIAB has a new look with its new GUI. The new style audition feature in worth upgrading for. It plays you a sample of the style immediately. No more waiting forever for the style to load.

Mine is in the mail thanks to the advise of a great fiddle and steel player on this forum.

Upgrading from 2009.

I bought the upgrade (from old version) last night. Been downloading all day and I'm still only about 50% done. At least I got the hard drive for next time.

Lots of cool new features I want to try out.

And did I mention it's on sale? Well, was until the end of December. Actually, you can probably still sneak in on the sale if you order online.

I got mine installed the other day.
There is so much on the screen now that I decided to get a larger monitor.

Erv, I don't have much room for another monitor. Been using a pair of 24" ones for a few years now. Looks like all of my files finished downloading overnight. I'm about to install it all.

Which version of 2014 did you purchase? I have plenty of hard drive space. I also have an old version (2006) on one of my hard drives now. Any info will help.

I got EverythinkPAK. I think it was about 50gb of downloads. I just wanted an early start. The hard drive only took about 3 days to arrive. Guess I could have waited.

Biab 2014

Post by Leon Carpenter »

Gary, Good to see your smiling face :) . I am glad to see you upgraded to 2014. It is for sure the BEST yet. Not much new for you in Blue Grass this time, but lots to enjoy. Actually, My BB folder shows a bit over 83.1 GB. 6,636 styles. The RealTracks use 66.1 GB. So, you may not have all of the files that you purchased, yet. Have fun and check your e-mail tomorrow for a few files I will send. Regards-----Leon

I just looked again. The downloaded files were around 71.6 gb. The installation folders were almost 80gb. I was just guessing (remembering) in the previous post. I knew it was huge.

Where is the best place to buy it from and how much? I am writing some gospel songs and believe that this package will help me.

They took a step backwards with the 2014 version. There used to be an icon that you could click to change the display between Chords and Number System. That has been eliminated.

You now must go to Options, then Preferences and finally click on "DISPLAY". When the Display panel comes up the option to change Chord Display is in the center of the panel on a dropdown.

Jack - click on the last item in the "Views" panel. then click the first item "Choose type of chord display"

I've tried that and it didn't work for me. I had to call PG Music Support and they were the ones that gave me the instuctions I posted.

Hmmm...what didn't work? Does your menu not have the "Choose type of chord display" option at the top on that button? I can't imagine why it wouldn't work for you. When you click the button and the menu drops down, click the first item on that menu and another menu opens to the side with the display options (Roman, Nashville, etc.). Not sure why PG would tell you to do something different.

Doug,
I recommend Big Jim Baron.
He is a steel player that has had the BIAB booth
at ISGC in ST Louis and numerous other steel shows.
Being a steel player, Jim is aware of the way we use
BIAB and is great with 'after-purchase user support'.
Big Jim same up with the aftermarket style package
of Ray Price Shuffle Styles.

Ian, I see that now. I don't know why PG Music support told me the other way, either.

OK guys. You computer gurus, I need help. I want to download the BIAB on a different hard drive than the one my old version is on. but, I still want to be able to get the update price and not the first time price. How do I do that?

Band In A box Version 2014

Post by Ray Beck »

I ordered the BIAB 2014 Everything Pak today from Sweetwater Music. Sweetwater Images show 2013, but my sales rep. said the images weren't updated and I will be getting the 2014 Version. I looked on PGMusic, but Sweetwater had the Everything Pak for $399.00. New to BIAB, so I will be busy learning the system.

Thanks for the shortcut on the chords display Ian. PG Music told me the same as Jack on how to do it.
