Cleartune For Nook?

Post by Skip Ellis »

Does anyone know if the Cleartune app (or similar) is available for the B&N Nook? Or maybe for a laptop?

I do not know about the Nook. If it runs android, then yes.
For windows laptops,
https://www.google.com/search?safe=imag ... 3230435422 shows several apps
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

You will need to visit the Nook app store and see if that app is available from Barnes and Nobel. Android apps tend to not install in Nooks. They are using a custom version of Linux that is different than what Google uses.

Thanks, Wiz! I tried that and it's a 'no go' so I'll just use my old tuner.

I did find that you can get a Mini SD card with the full Android OS on it - plug this into your Nook tablet and it by passes the Noon OS. You can then use any of the Android apps including Cleartune. Found it for $28 on E-Bay. You can also set it up yourself with out ordering anything if you're more computer literate that me. It's pretty much 'plug n play' the way I did it, though. BTW, the Android OS version is called "Jellybean" . If you order, make sure you know the exact model of your tablet.

I would not assume that since Cleartune runs on an Android phone it will run on an Android tablet. I have a Nexus tablet and although it will run on it, you cannot enter your own offsets, which for me makes it a complete waste of money. You can purchase the app from the Google store and try it and if it doesn't work you can get a refund on the app if it is within 15 minutes. A good way to try a new app. Unfortunately I didn't know about that when I bought it.

Steve, try sharing your issues with the developer. He said he knows of some issues, and is working on them. "The latest update of Android broke the method I used to o run the edit button."
