attacked by adware
I have a new computer. a PC running windows 7. Twicin the last few weeks whenever I get online and click on a website large popup boxes start crowding the screen. the largest is advising me to run the update for windows media player, sometimes it a Java alert, sometimes it is a warning my usage is at risk.
here is one of the url's I copied
http://rvzr2-a.akamaihd.net/sd/cpops-1. ... BetterSurf
Last week I did run a windows security update and scan. malicious adware was found and removed. I did another scan and adware again was found. I clicked to eliminate it, but now this guy instantly attacked me.
as I type small ads are popping up or scrolling at the lower edge of the screen.
what a pain.

If you just acquired these popup threats, try running System Restore to a date prior to the infections.
If this doesn't solve the problem, turn OFF System Restore, download/install/update and scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and follow the instruction to remove the objects it detects. Then reboot and scan again. Do this from each account you have installed on the computer, including the "Administrator" account that is only visible from a Safe Mode boot (F8).
After the PUPs and malware have been deleted, re-enable System Restore, run Windows Updates that were released today (12/10/2-13), upgrade Adobe Flash to today's new version, upgrade Adobe Reader, then uninstall JAVA.
