Mobile Steel Guitar Seminars

Post by Mickey Adams »

Ive been toying with the idea of doing steel guitar seminars here in the US. Ive recently bought a bus, and I would really like to make this work...So I'm asking all of my friends here for feedback.. My idea would be this...
Travel to a central location in each state, and hold 2 days workshops covering everything from A to Z.. This would include E9, C6, repairs, adjustments, buy sell, trade, or dispose of...:-)...Steel guitars.
To my knowledge, this type of approach to supporting the Steel Guitar Community has never been attempted, but I think its MORE than a worthwhile endeavor.
I have spoken to Buck Reid about the idea of joining with me, and I believe that he would be a perfect partner. Im asking my forum buddies to give me some input on the subject...Please......Happy Holidays all!...Mickey

GREAT timing!

Your rig could pull my six axel, forty foot "steel guitar museum" along with Scotty's Hall of Fame as you toured the country side.

The timing couldn't be better............

I'd be all over this in a heartbeat. I've longed for the days of the seminars sponsored by PSGA, in New York. Learned a lot and met some great people.

You get a couple hours from Topeka, and I'm THERE.

I'm like Lane. Get several hours from Cody and I'm in. Two possibilities would be Billings, MT and Casper, WY. This would especially benefit those of us that are far removed from the centers of steel guitar activity....Branson, Nashville, Dallas, Phoenix and SoCal to name a few. Your schedule would need to be widely advertised (SGF and SG associations come to mind) way in advance so attendees could plan accordingly. The challenge will be that the locations that would benefit the most are those that will have the hardest time drawing a large group. I wish you luck and hope it comes to pass. Maybe you could cover the St. Louis, Dallas and Phoenix shows and make a loop through the rest of the country between them.....just a thought.
