It was a cat scratching on a screen door!

I’m speaking of the Saturday Live Sessions by William Litaker

Williams approach to teaching has from the first day been less anal, less careful and more spontaneous, more to do with the information that your soul carries.

For that reason even though the worksheets and the lessen is organized neither the viewer nor William knows what’s going to happen next during the live session and what can happen will happen and does happen.

William is unpretentious with his playing. He seems more concerned about what you learn than what you think about his playing.

There certainly is no script. At times not even particularly coherent $:\$ but naturally funny and I can’t tell you how much enjoyment I get out of it all for $5 a week.

what the hell. So I don't eat a weekend footlong sub for a few weeks, sounds like a good break in the day and I like Williams' videos. Lord knows I need help with the three P's(pedalin, pickin', and pickin up, the bar off the floor that is)

William has been a great friend for many years. He has a genuine love for the instrument and his objective is to promote and advance the instrument. Very proud of his accomplishements and his willingness to help. Keep up the great work.

I bought a beautiful Emmons Legrand 1 from William in 1996 when I visited North Carolina. I'm still playing it and he went out of his way to help me. He even included the Emmons volume pedal. It's great to see what he's doing to promote steel guitar. Keep up the good work William!

I now have 149 of the Live Sessions on CDs (tab worksheets with flv video).

aprox. 180 intros, 500 exercises, 500 fill licks, 45 complete songs and at least 100 enjoyable things that went wrong during the broadcasts.

So what can I say?

I agree with Jack Strayhorn. William is a good friend of mine also. He has a true dedication to the pedal steel guitar and helping others learn to play it. In my opinion, William is the new Jeff Newman. I sincerely believe that were he alive today, Jeff would be using Internet technology to do lessons like William is doing. Jeff always seemed to be state of the art with his videos, etc... If this had been available when I was a teenager I would have been glued to William's videos.

Indianapolis is in Indiana.
So if we knew why Kannapolis is in North Carolina and not in Kansas it would explain a lot. Well I’ll tell you why!
It really is the land of OZ and Dorothy blew all the way over to North Carolina from Kansas in a tornado and they tried to cover the whole thing up by changing the name from OZ to Kannapolis. I swear I keep hearing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in the background every time I watch the Live Session broadcasts.

William was thoughtful enough to send some samples of what to expect during the LIVE sessions. The spontaneous easy atmosphere is a big plus, not to mention that William is working to explore stuff as it comes up. I'm really looking forward to this weekend!

I have been a member of Williams Saturday sessions since day one. William has gone out of his way many times to help myself and others. Its not unusual for William to call me sometime after a session to see if I understand it or need any help! My steel playing has greatly improved and I have learned a lot about musicianship in the process. Thanks, William

I for one, am not at all impressed by your Subject Heading.

I find your heading concerning William, very offensive, as I'm sure many others do as well.

I for one feel this thread's heading should be removed completely along with an apology to William, even if you are considered by some to be the forum clown. You don't impress most at all......

Storm, I lived in New Mexico most of my life, sure miss those big fresh roasted and peeled green chili peppers.
I think Bo played guitar in about every honky tonk and club in the whole state at one time or another.

When the Gigantic E was with the Everly's he had to miss a gig for some reason one time, and when they all got back together Albert Lee told him they put a tin garbage can with a cat inside on stage where Buddy usually set up and when it came time for some steel guitar he just kicked the can.
