I rarely play pedal steel on the pier and this was a one-time deal for my new Milkman amp.
But yes, my '54 Fender Pro dual 8 has suffered a bit over the years playing beach gigs in Da Howlies. If it hadn't been such a beater to begin with, I never would have drug it down there. It sure sounds awesome, though.
edit - and that tele you see is a cheap import...

Bill, for me some years touring with Columbia's Electric Bluegrass "The Zassoff Boys" up and down the coast and throughout the US, and a good bit of time with Top 40 rock bands on the "beach" scene. In fact the largest crowd I've played for to date was a festival in Myrtle Beach with the Zassoffs in front of 200,000 plus. This is before timed-array speaker systems, and I have no idea how the people in back heard a thing.

I forgot more recent gigs in Wilmington with Blueground Undergrass, but on the riverfront instead of the beach. On the MB festival gig, our set was between Ray Stevens and Glen Campbell. Glen had just married Tanya Tucker, and I was surprised to see him getting out of the helicopter right behind the stage with some other young blonde wrapped around him. He was a mess but sang his ass off. So we made him an honorary Zassoff. Good times. How are you liking that Milkman?

As many times has this has been suggested, I think I'll make my fortune installing nets at the bottom of wells and pit shafts to catch the discarded banjos, so that I can resell them.Darryl Hattenhauer wrote:...What is perfect pitch? The ability to throw a banjo down a mineshaft without hitting the sides.
