Logitech Mouse Problem
I've been using this Logitech wireless mouse for several years. My computer is a Mac Mini.
Lately it's developed this problem where many of the mouse clicks are sent to the computer 2 or 3 times in rapid succession. I've tried slowing the double-click response time on the computer that that doesn't fix it. I think this is a hardware problem.
Do I need to get a new mouse, or is there some way to fix this one?

Most optical mice (all that I've seen) are in the typical computer component "non repairable" category.
I had problems with a optical/wireless Logitech mouse while it was still in warranty. They sent me a new one and told me to discard the old one as it wasn't repairable. One of my clients had a Microsoft mouse develop problems in warranty and they too just replaced it and told the user to trash the old one.
A flakey switch contact is the problem. Over time the contacts can wear.
Time for a new one.

I also use a Mac mini , but not with the equipment you mention -- I have experienced the same thing - several times logging on to SGF, the blue tooth keyboard seem unresponsive - then it filled up the log area with a bunch of the first few letters typed - like a machine gun ---- maybe there is more going on than just a failure of the equipment -- also -- I find resetting safari after being in places like u-tube helps a bunch

Re: Logitech Mouse Problem
LOL on your "no drivers" post, B0B. But I think it's terminal. From your description, length of use, etc, that's a lot of mouse clicks, and it just sounds like the contacts are tango uniform. Bet you a donut it's done for. The new crop of Logitech wireless stuff is pretty decent, and not all that expensive.b0b wrote:I've been using this Logitech wireless mouse for several years. The new mouse arrived today - wireless Logitech $22 from Amazon. Seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.
