New Zum pickups..Help

I've ordered a new Zum D-10 from Bruce and need to decide what pickups I want. I am playing a D-10 Zum now with stock pickups.
I think I would like a little more bite, but want to avoid any harsh sound. Any ideas?

I suggest the Bill Lawrence 910 pickups. I have them in both of my Zums and love them.

Yeah Johnny,i believe that's what John Hughey is using in his guitar as well. They do seem to be very compatable.

I like the LXR-16 better than the 912 on my Zum.

Mine has the George-L T.W.s on it. They are nice and crisp but seem a little shrill on the upper strings. Maybe it's just my settings.

I'm with Earnest on this. I put the LXR-16's in my Zoom and it came to life. I had them put in my new JCH and it immediately ate my push/pull! Damn, I miss that guitar!

If you like the sound of a single coil pickup, Jerry Wallace makes a pickup to your specifications that's really hard to beat...Highs that are very sweet, not harsh at all, and very balanced tone across the strings
No strings sticking out like some pickups allow to happen...The price is right also..

Ditto's on the Wallace pickup. Jerry rewound an old Mullen pickup for me and it is terrific.

I swapped out several different humbuckers on my '02 D-10 ZumSteel and finally ended up with Bruce's stock single coils as the liveliest most balanced of 'em all. They really brought the guitar to life.

If you must go with 'buckers' I would go with Johnny and Buck and do the 910s. They seem to be the best balanced out of the 'buckers' although I did have a set of 710s that sounded pretty darn good. 710s do have a tendency to be a little harsh on the thinner guage strings, much like an E66.
