Billy Johnson, lead guitarist, harmony singer, and bass player passed in February of this year. He performed with Porter Wagoner, Connie Smith, Jeannie Seely, Jim Ed Brown and many others, and was often seen on the Grand Ole Opry stage performing with Billy Walker, prior to Walker’s death in 2006. Well-schooled in traditional country music, he played guitar leads with precision and soul. He was a highly respected and loved member of the Nashville music community.
