My new Rittenberry Cajun Speical

Had Gary build me a new S-10. Lightweight Like 40+ lbs in the case. Check the pics out of the pulls on the 4th pedal. She pull 4568&10 up 1/2 to F to bang out the cajun stuff

I thought the back neck would have an accordion maybe since it's a Cajun special.

Seriously, very nice.

Got her home and plugged in to my rig. Sounds like the angles singing, Then I set down on the cajun pedal and the devil comes out a dancing. Guitar has near 0 cabinet drop even with pedal 4 pulling 5 strings a 1/2 tone. going to the airport tomorrow to get the weight on it. Great Job Gary. Will be sending my SD-10 back when he has time to add another pedal.also toying with the idea of adding a Marrs/Fluger Cat Can 8 string to it.

What's the spring on the C pedal for?
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Besides where it resides (check out that rhyme :) ) and the player, what makes it a "Cajun" guitar?

as well as an accordian on the back neck, maybe you could replace the mica with washboard!

Gary is also developing a gator hide covering for that "authentic look". But seriously - I LOVE both of my Ritts and appreciate Gary's willingness to try new ideas too.

He's the best.

You might want to keep an "eye" on the shaft block that is screwed into the wood. Five pulls on that cross shaft is a lot of tork aganist those two screws that hold the block in place.

Total weight with Peterson flip top and leg bracket 49.25 lbs at the airport. Without the tuner 48 lbs.
No scub board option yet, but something to think about.

Thanks Daniel. I was just wondering if there was something physically different about the guitar to make it better suited for Cajun music. All you cajun steel guitar guys are awesome. I love that kind of music.

I was playing Jingle Bells to mess with the crowd Sunday afternoon. They thought(knew) I was crazy, but I was thinking about Cristmas In July.
Check out Rittenberrys website should have a page up and running in a couple of days. It will explain some of the new things Gary has done to keep the weight down and still keep the same tone and feel that make Rittenberry a spot on guitar.

As an aside, back around 1983, I was in a band that was playing at a place called the Townhouse in Emeryville where bands like Commander Cody, Jerry Garcia band, and bands of that level play, and Queen Ida and her guitar player were there. She offered me a gig. She was about to record a new album and wanted to add a steel player. At the time though, I was married, had a small kid and a day gig with benefits to take care of that kid. She also wanted me to tour with her. But, she couldn't guarantee enough work for me to quit my job. I wonder if she ever followed through with that venture. I wonder what would have happened if I took that gig. Who knows, maybe I would be another cajun steel player hangin' with you guys.

Perhaps Gary needs to include a hat with a steel guitar purchase. I think my Zum came with one.
The guitar is in better shape than the hat after 22 years
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Can you post the copedent here on the Forum? I'm interested in what P.4 does more specifically and how you use it in cajun playing. Thanks in advance, bro.
