I'm trying to slow a song down to learn at a slower tempo, currently bpm is 160,,,I slow it down to half that 80 bpm,,,biab counts it off at that tempo,,,then on the 1st downbeat it goes to 100bpm,,,,I set it on 110,,,1st downbeat goes to 100bpm???? Whay do I need to do to make it stay where I put it???

Right click on the 1st bar and then click on "bar settings". In the upper left corner of the "bar settings" window there is a box called "Tempo change to". If I understand what you wrote in your post, you should find "100" in that box. So even though the tempo of the song is set at 160, that bar setting of "Tempo change to of 100" takes effect right after the the count in and it plays at 100 bpm.
You should also see a red outline around that 1st bar of the song that indicates that there will be a tempo change.
Just set that to "0" and it will play at the tempo you set on the main screen.
