Sustain an ending chord - OK to close
I am having trouble with sustaining the last chord of the ending of a song I programmed. I put in Eb... for the last chord (for 2 beats of the measure) and want the chord to sustain for the 4 beats of the next measure. I set the chorus to end on the last measure (the one I want to sustain), I set it to end on the measure after that one, and can't get it to sustain through that last measure.
How can I get it to sustain?
Got it figured out. OK to close this.

You have to change the last chord in the measure where you want the sustained chord to end. For example, if the song ends on a sustained chord like A6.. then put in a different chord with a period in the measure where you want it to end and it doesn't matter what chord it is as long as it's a different one.

I found a forum about BIAB and this was the answer.
Have a few bars extra after the ending chord and just type in C. (C and one period). I just added it to the bar after where I wanted the sustained chord to fade out.
EDIT: The article I read said to the C chord and period, but any chord will do as long as it is not the same as the chord you want to sustain.

Thanks Andy. That's what I found. I remember having known this a long time ago, but forgot exactly how to do it.
