Thanks Roger, It's just a bit of fun , I was just trying to see what I might sound on a one take recording, It makes you take care of how and what you play. good practice for stage as there is no second chance..

John, great job! I particularily liked the style of the rhythm track which is a little more upbeat that what one usually hears.

I know what you mean about doing one take recordings. You have to be on your mark to pull it off.

I occasionally make some videos and they are one take usually. However, I have done plenty over again.

I made a one take video Friday that you might like to see and hear. If you are interested I will tell you what I used....which is "Bare Bones".

Very nice John, a little faster than I'm used to,
but I listened to it several times and like it at
that tempo. I gotta say, it's enjoyable like that.

Thanks Carl, if you listen to Hank Williams version it is even a little faster then mine. but Hank Jnr did it about the same speed as mine. I don't play many instrumentals. it's only in the past few years I started to do some. I spent most of my playing years doing back up steel and never needed to learn any. but I am getting to grips with it now , again thanks for your comments,,,

What are you playing. Parts sounds like lap, some like pedal.
I not quite sure, maybe it's both, but it all sounds real good.

Hi Carl, It's a Carter uni 12, funny thing you saying that it sounds a bit like a lap steel, a lot of people say that. I try to sound a little different to other steel players, maybe because I started out on lap steel many years ago. As lon as it sounds ok that fine with me . Thanks for reply....

Real nice job John on all of the tunes,i was going to ask you to if you had pedals on the Carter,lol sounds like the lap steel .wow you have a style all your own man love it.

Thanks Wayne, yes I do use pedals, but as I call them a one take tune , I would have played then with care so as not to hit any unwanted strings and spoiling the recording. As you will see from this video I do play the steel in the normal fashion as well...Thanks again

Ya John great video,nice tune .steel sounded real good on back up. and the lady is a real nice fiddle player to.how do you like the keyless guitar.i never tried one my self.

Hi Wayne thanks, I loved the keyless, sadly I had to sell it as I was having a spinal operation and thought I might not be able to change the strings, it can be a little tricky on a keyless steel.
