Time is getting short just 6 more days. This is a lot of fun having these Steel Guitar Jams for friends that love and enjoy a great Steel Guitar Jam.If it keeps going the way it is going I just might call it a Steel Guitar Show with all the local and out of state players we have that come and enjoy and have a great time.WE will now have a great Singer in our Steel Jams now. None other than a good friend from Rhode Island and our new neighbor Ray Cross and his wife Sharon.

I think it is in Poor Taste to Schedule a Jam on the same weekend as Saluda's 25 year 100th show. The Saluda Show is For the benefit of the Shriners Childrens Hospitals.

Of Course You never had any class anyway Sam
Well I take that back, You have a lot of Class, All of it Low

Saluda advirtises its show dates months ahead as to avoid conflicts..Sammys is more of a get together than it is a show. But I can see the conflict..As a member of the Shrine as many have devoted our lives to keep the Hospitals free of charge for those needy children..More important to keep them open to which we have seen some closings..

My opinion

Post by Allen Howington »

While it is wonderful what the Shriners contribute to, all of us can't drive 6 hours for a Sunday show at Saluda. So I think it is wonderful that we all have something to do this weekend, and Sam's get together is on Saturday---not Sunday when the Saluda big day is usually planned. I don't think Sam did anything but try to promote Steel guitar, and I for one appreciate it, otherwise I would be setting at home this coming Saturday. Why show hostility, no one is taking anything away from Saluda, we all attend when we can afford it, and have when we have the time. We are all steel guitar lovers, why not act as brothers. I hope a Zillion dollars is raised for the cause this weekend in Saluda, and I look forward to the next time I can attend one of the events, but I for one can't this weekend, so what am I suppose to do, set at home or attend a close by "free" friendship event--I'll be at Sam's event, and thank you Sam for caring about Steel Guitar. :D

OK for number one John Floyd you made a remark to me a while back on the Steel Guitar Chat room and told me you hated Yankee's.There for you have no class.I posted this Steel Jam not a Steel show back in December. I did not post it on the date that Saluda has their fund raiser. I made sure there was nothing going on with Saluda and MASGA on the date that I picked.John Floyd is just blowing off steam and needs to stay in Georgia or make sure he goes to Saluda to support the fund raiser. He said he is only going to the Jam Saturday night as he won't be there Sunday because he is going to his daughters house.

Joe Casey you know me from the RI Steel Guitar Association and I never interfered with Norwalk CT. or any other Steel Shows up there.

This Steel Jam that I have here in Clayton are all local guy from this area and VA. and none of them go to Saluda. Mine is on Saturday and Saluda is the day after. I have never been to Saluda and never will because We can not afford to go there.
