What a beautiful instrument. Ahem, are you going to add this to your line? I'll put my order in asap...

Brad, that really is a stunning piece of work.... functionality, form and beauty at their best!
And I am glad the keyhead worked out perfectly.

Looks great Brad. How did that Voodoo 'bucker work out for you? What tuning is it in?

That is beautiful and you are right about French Polishing and it is easy to repair. Brad, where did you find the keyhead? thanks

Stephen, the Peter Florance VooDoo humbucker has worked out GREAT. It's really nice. It's a fairly hot/overwound PAF style. Very rich and full with plenty of sparkle and clarity, but not too much glass or crispness. I'm quite impressed by it actually.

The tuning she likes most is either C6 or the Byrd C6/A7.

The keyhead, nut, and bridge were custom made by Bruce Zumsteg of Zumsteel.

Yeah, the French Polishing thing had me hooked. I was looking around the house for things to shellac... It does have a pretty good final finish of McGuires #7 Glaze and then carnuba wax and then Rennessaince wax. Hopefully those final layers will protect the shellac from spilled whiskey since shellac is alcohol soluble.

Brad

My few days of French Polishing truly had me mesmerized gazing into that quilted maple. I could hardly leave it alone.
