Hee Haw steelers
I'm trying to recall who the staff players were on Hee Haw and the timeframes in which they served.
I know Curly Chalker was a big one. When did he join and how long was he in the band?

Russ Hick could answer too = I think Russ said one time that his steel playing took 17 years to get that show canceled.
Jay Dee too.
But I do not know the years for any of them.

I'm guessing it's Curly on this early 70s version of Rocky Top sung by Lynn Anderson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1K0dw3F3lM
or maybe it's Jay Dee? the steel comes in on every chorus.

I would guess it would be to get the right guys who played it get a hold of Russ Hicks.
Problem would be solved.
