Also, I'd like to note the picture of dancer Aggie Auld. I have seen this one before but not at this resolution. Aggie was highly regarded in the days of the Hapa Haole Hula, and she had many parts in Hollywood movies including Hurricane and Hawaii Calls in which she performed a most exquisite Ami Ami. In an era of bobs and bouffants she was famous for wearing her hair down to her butt.

Why was all this information deleted? I can think of no logical reason why. This is really unfortunate. I am very disappointed. This was great reference material for those of us that own Oahu's. If you didn't want people to have access to it why the hell did you post it?

There are many more examples of MLA taking his ball and going home in a huff. Don't be surprised if he somehow gets the mods to delete these posts too.

Thanks Ron. I still can't wrap my head around why. I could have copied the thread but who would have ever thought you needed to. Most forums once you have comments on your post they won't let you delete it. This would be a good idea for the powers that be here to follow. Hell on RH you can only edit a post for 15 minutes so you better spell check.

In most cases you don't find such selfish tactics used and abilities abused, but there's usually one in every bunch. Sweet talk him and maybe he'll send you the ones you want, he's not all bad.

Ron you are funny. "Sweet Talk" him? Unfortunately for me it's not my style. Read the quote on the bottom of my posts. It is what I believe in my heart and I certainly try to follow it. If I have something that people think is worth sharing I go above and beyond to do so. I guess in my fairy tale world I expect the same from others. :\ Like Chuck says, "c'est la vie, goes to show you never can tell"

Excuse me, but Michael goes out of his way to help people here routinely. He has, in the past, put up a ton of cool info - much of it copies from his extensive stash of vintage paper. He is very knowledgeable, some of his stuff is practically impossible to find, and it is really quite time consuming to scan and post the kind of information he's made available.

I honestly don't know what motivated him to remove this info. But a while back, he got pretty well railed about how much time it took to load his images and how much bandwidth they were consuming. Shortly afterward, he started removing a bunch of images he had posted. I assumed that was the reason, although I never read anything specific from him about this and have no idea if that is relevant here. My take - sometimes you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

As far as being able to edit posts - I think it's useful to be able to edit posts. Not everybody here is a great writer, but some of those folks still have a lot to contribute about steel guitar. Posting here is not and should not be a test of writing skill.

People here don't owe us anything in particular except basic civility. In fact, sometimes the old adage, "No good deed goes unpunished." is operative. But I have found Michael quite friendly when approached in a friendly manner.

My opinions.
