I just recently got back into 8-string.
This tune kicked me in the behind, but I stuck with it...

Thanks Mitch!
BTW, there's nothing simple about what you do...if there was, I'd be able to do it! :)

There is just SO much talent around this place ! My 'simpleton' remark is nothing less than my envy of you 'jazz' / progressive guys doing stuff that really pushes the envelope ! I love it ! Just can't do it and I'm green with envy

Great playing, Steve!

Just wondering - are you using 3 fingerpicks plus a thumbpick? Not using your index finger? Looks almost like you're holding onto your thumbpick with your index finger on some of the quick licks.

Just an inquiring mind... (:

Larry, I'm just using a flatpick and bare fingers.

I love jazz. I found your performance to be increditable ! I could never do anything similar even though I "hear" some of these licks running around in my head ! Man, you are so talented !! Unbelievable, yet there it was ! Awesome and cool !

Wow.....you set the bar real high Steve. How long does it take you to to work out your solos for something like this?

Most of my time was spent on the melody (especially the faster parts). I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do on the solos, but left a lot of room for improv. When I try to plan out solos too much I either mess them up, or they sound too sterile. There's that cool energy that comes from flying by the seat of your pants...kind of a controlled recklessness.
