Russ recorded an album, many years ago.(I think it was on an "Edison cylinder",& then transposed to a vinyl album, when they came out in the 50's.) The name of the album was,"A Journey Into Yesterday". On half the album,Russ sings(?) He ordered 1000 of them. He has 999 of them left. I know this because,he GAVE one to me. (did y'all think I was gonna BUY one?)

(memo to Russ)
Ya might wanna take some of these along w/ you,to Saluda. They could use 'em to serve salad on,or giant coasters for drinks. Now maybe...just maybe...someone might wanna take one home w/ them,to use as Halloween music,OR if they have some cranky neighbors that they're tryin' to get to move out. This'll surely get 'em movin'.(one way or another Image )

Smiley shame on you putting down Russ's vocals after eating up all his fish Image. Where are you eating and at who's Fish fry next year? Image PS you are probably the only one I know who still has his old Edison cyl. player given to him as a present when he was a teenager. But on the more serious side Laney and Russ make any show they do a successful event. I hope to make a Saluda show in the future. Suporting my brothers and the Children they donate their time and efforts to help have healthy and normal lives, without any cost to the families who could not afford to get this medical attention needed. This is one show I hope continues to be supported and attended largely. There are many Steel shows put on around the country but none with more important reasons to support.
[This message was edited by Joe Casey on 22 October 2006 at 07:01 AM.]

What Joe said!!! I'm a Shriner too and he is right on with the support of the kids, etc... What lucky people we are to be able to play the music that we love, and have so much fun, while at the same time supporting such a noble cause.

Hope to see everyone in Sauda, looking forward to another good time.

Alan, playing your bass is quite a challenge. I think you use the Day set up. Mine is the Emmons. It was nice meeting you at the Fish Fry.

Hey Wayne - What kind of left-handed comment was that! Looking forward to seeing you in a couple weeks. Us steel guitar backing bass players gotta stick together. Too bad you're gonna be there Saturday night (ha ha). I told you I'm the type that likes to take over. Image

I'm looking especially forward to being in Saluda next weekend, because one of my favorite players, Brett Day, has agreed to back me up on one of my favorite songs, "Once A Day"!

See you there!

Well Miss Laney,
I guess have been replaced backing you up. I think it is great that Brett will star with you in Saluda.

We will not be able to be there this time. Linda says we WILL be in Florida.

I know that when Russ speaks you jump, hehe, and that is the way it is when Linda SAYS JUMP.

Take care, we love you
