Just taking a poll to find the average age of the board's members. I myself am 32, and it seems am in the minority in terms of age group here. Is there a trend that fewer young folk are picking up the steel?

Age ain't nothing but a number. There are some folks here in your range, but there are also some who are older who still have a youthful outlook on music and life. Count me as one, though I'm in my late 40s.

I am 82. However was last active in 2006 due to Herniated Discs and Arthritis. The Forum is now my only connection to the Steel Guitar where I can participate in some of the History and sometimes give tips from experience over the years.

I'm thirty and I joined the forum in June of 2000-I was eighteen at the time. Now at thirty, I love playin' the steel guitar like I did when I was eighteen. This year on Christmas Day, it'll be my twelfth year on steel guitar.

I'll be 74 in December. Still working in a band. Currently we are doing a show every Monday evening, starting the 1st we will also be doing a weekly Tuesday afternoon show and also doing other dance gigs such as a Halloween dance last night.

I did give up road jobs two years ago. I don't need that.
