Skype Lessons with Ricky Davis
Ok just putting feelers out; as I just got Skype and it's really cool.
I also need to make a living; and would be able to teach anybody lessons(mainly E9) and specializing in learning anything I played on any CD???
Would there be any interest in this??
I know my friend Rick S. is doing it and certainly don't want to take away from his deal; is why I would do a little more specializing in "Ricky Licks"???

Hey Ricky... the more the merrier brother! The Skype thing is being done already by John McClung and Joe Wright as far as I know. I haven't seen John's actual presentation (I'm sure it's PRO all the way), but Joe's is pretty sophisticated, with multiple cams and pro-tools etc. He's got a link on his website showing what he does.
Mine is just a web cam so far.
I think we all have our strengths and perspectives that could prove to be valuable for students who want to learn the way we think about things.
Back when I was a serious guitar student, I took lessons from a few guys, before I found the one guy who turned out to be my "guru". I never had that for the steel, and it would've been nice to not have to figure everything out on my own.
Now is a great time to learn about the steel guitar!
Best of luck man! Let's Skype sometime! My Skype name is: questforgigs

Hey Way cool Rick. Yes just going to see how it goes and maybe up the process a little if it goes good. Joe is ALWAYS wonderful and goes beyond the call of duty in everything he does....I'm sure he's quite successful at it.
You are so right at just following your stregths as I was also lucky in finding great mentors to help me.

Welcome to the Skype pool, Rick and Ricky!
You're right, Joe Wright's setup is beyond deluxe. But simple also works fine, which is my approach. There are a lot of guys & gal new players nowhere near a live teacher who we can all help in our unique ways.

Hey Mickey way cool; yes a very long lost friend. He was the leader of the very first road band I ever played in: "Southern Accent"....was a great experience and K really knew how to put a band on the road.
