12-string universals
My Zum SD-12 with 6 and 5 weighs 38.2 lbs. It rides in a nylon keyboard case that's about 12 lbs.
My "new" Sierra SD-12 with 6 and 5 weighs 52.4 lbs. It's a 1979 model with key headstock--the older heavy kind. It's got a new Gator keyboard case that's 15.6 lbs. I carry the pedal board and rods separately in a tripod case. That pedal board with pedals is almost 10 lbs. --heavier than any I've ever owned. It's original case weighs about 22 lbs. putting the whole thing at around 75 lbs. (and no wheels!)
I'd like to mention that lighter ain't necessarily better. I had a GFI guitar S-12 that was too light and the knee levers jerked it about to the point of distraction. It's barely noticeable with the Zum and even less so with the Sierra.
