Here's a few interesting Tom Brumley tunes that you might not be familiar with. The first one is with Dallas Wayne, whom I had the pleasure of playing with when he lived out here for a couple of years. You can hear him DJing on Sirius FM these days. This is the the later Brumley sound, and he was probably playing his Anapeg guitar. The tone is mellower and his playing more evolved than when he was with Buck.

"Just like a woman"- Too bad that the steel guitar is getting lower in volume gradually. What a silly thing to to by the producer (hope it' no Rick himself). Otherwise it' s a very good version of the song.
The album "Rick sings Nelson" is the studio album with the most steel parts by Tom, and he is featured on every track. Not so on the later albums.
I also like the Dallas Wayne Song.

When I got to L.A. in '72 two of my first friends were Allan Kemp and Pat Shanahan of The Stone Canyon Band. They said Tom was absolutely painstaking in getting his parts recorded as he wanted them. I imagine that was a big change from working with Buck. I also find it remarkable how much Tom's style and tone seemed to change (getting even better) in the new setting.
