B Bowman Hop
I've never tried to learn this great tune until recently.I have a recording of Billy doing it with Bob Wills and it sounds like an E-13th tuning.Does anyone know if this is correct?

Jeff Newman's course "Music To Get C6th By" contains a fine diagrammed arrangement of B. Bowman Hop, including the Jimmy Day ending. Billy definitely used an E tuning on his inside neck, which is what he played most of the time. I've lost count of how many times I've played Billy's "Midnight In Old Amarillo" in country bands going back to the early '60's. It's one of my favorites and makes a great dance tune slow or fast tempo.

I started learning it in the A6th tuning by playing the 1st and second strings open and barring the 3rd and 4th strings at the 2nd fret, this gives you the (1)E, (2)C#, (3)B, and (4)G# of the E6th tuning. This method of playing is also adaptable for Midnight in Old Amarillo.

Herb R. taught it to me using C#m.Very few slants. His original version of Remington Ride was also done in C#m. www.billchaviers.com

You mean Billy's original, don't you, Carl? The late Billy Bowman wrote B. Bowman Hop. Forum member Bobby Bowman is no relation to Billy Bowman.... each one added good imbelishment to Bobby's original.
