Iowa 6/15 - 6/17

I'll be in Iowa 6/15 - 6/17. Just wondering if anyone will be playing in or around the Muscatine area on these dates. I know there are some great steel players up there in corn country, heard it with my own ears. Help me out please!!

Check with Ron Petersen and his "Keepin' Time" band. Ron lives not far from Muscatine. Ron's a great player and one of the few players that sing and play. Plus, Ron is a fellow forumite.

I'm orginally from Muscatine, Iowa and your post got my attention.

Ahh yes! I heard Ron play at the Davenport show. Mr. Peterson, what's your schedule and where...??

Lana, you might want to put the Arrowhead Steel Guitar Showcase on your list of places to visit on July 15th & 16th. Duluth, MN is a beautiful vacation area. Lots to do if you come up a few days early and stay a few days after.

HI Lana - It was great to meet you at Davenport - Sorry to say, I shut my band down on New Years Eve and just doing a few set-ins now and then. I had played the Muscatine Moose monthly for over 20 years, but they are no longer having dances. Thanx for all your help in the Steel Guitar World!!!

Ron - Darn! Well, if nothing else perhaps we could get together for a chat?

George - The Duluth show looks like a great time. July is usually a hard time for me to get away as we are knee deep in details for the ISGC and preparing for the OsarkSGA show. But I will definitely put these dates on my radar and if I can swing it, maybe take the ride. Keep me posted on the details.

Lana, if you completely strike out finding a steeler, you'll
find me hosting a 50 yr reunion of my old Band, The Bandera Boys. We play in West Branch, barely 30 miles from Muscatine on Friday the 16th. It's an old 50s band.
It's the first time in 5 yrs I haven't played steel on the job but I'll be on lead with 2 saxes, piano, bass and drums.
This band was inducted into the Iowa Music Rock & roll Hall of Fame in 1999. It's outdoors and free. Dale
