This was played on my Rittenberry SD-10, Lawrence 705 pickup, a medium amount of delay, DD-3. The playing is too busy, but I just played as if I was doing it live. Nothing special, but I'm satisfied with it as a first try.
Good Bill.

Here's a little bit' of French Touch!

Recorded on ProTools this morning.
Franklin D10
Transtubefex

The hardest part was not to play and go along the tune until the climax at the end of the song. I've tried to keep it simple to avoid an overbusy steel part.
Comments welcome.

Hey everyone,
This has been an incredible experience for me, listening to all of these great accompaniments.
I'm not a steel player so I don't feel qualified to comment on playing or sound, however as an amature producer, ( I recorded this on a home PC with Cakewalk Sonar), I like what Gary did with the repeating theme. I also really liked Freds holding back approach.
In my mind I visualized the dynamics of this song as becoming very soft in the begining of the last chorus, then getting stronger throughout the rest of the song along with the lead guitar.
I always felt like the chorus needed a little somthing more.
Individual tracks can be found here.

if anyone wants to experiment with the mix. Feel free to add or take away instruments.

You have a great group here!
Thanks Johan for using my song.

Excellent! The question is whether we are showcasing ourselves or trying to augment the song. I think you've nailed the latter.

wav file for Tascam Dp-004

Post by Michael Remming »

I love this idea and have been trying in vain to convert the mp3 file to a wav file to use in my DP-004 Pocket Sudio that I got for Christmas. It requries a 16 bit, 44.1-kHz, mono, WAVE file. I've been using Audacity with no luck yet. Can anyone help me with this?

Once again, this is not a contest. I just started this for letting hear each other ideas about playing and backing up, instead of just talking about playing.
As we say in Dutch: "Niet lullen, speulen!" it's in English like 'Shut up and play!:)"
Thanks for all reactions!
