I know he's a classically trained pianist and plays a few other instruments as well,His people skills are a lot better than Simon's.

My buddy works in TV for Fox and does many Documentaries, just finished the 30 year anniversary show on John Lennon.
During his interviews he asked a well know music person who has interviewed everyone who he thought was the nicest person, and he said it was Steven Tyler. Said he was very gracious and did anything they wanted him to do.
I also saw them this summer and not being a big fan of Aerosmith, I was very impressed with the show and how much energy they all put into it.

i'm just posting here to be included with some of my favorite forum members.
first of all...i'm just glad the diguardi chick is gone. boy, was she annoying!
i didn't expect to like jennifer lopez but she seems quite pleasant and she and steven are very kind. i think occassionally they try to be mean but don't really have it in them.
hey, without idol and survivor....i've got nothing!
i think kathy griffin would be a cool judge.

I thought Gene Simmons might be a good judge, too.

for some reason i got the impression this was preplanned, scripted and things are not necessarily as one would be led to believe.
i might add that this season has failed to produce anyone that i would even slightly consider spending money on which, of course, is the whole purpose of the show, right?
naima is the only individual real personality, awkward as she may be. hopefully she'll get a gig doing a mayan 'end of the world 2012' musical...hopefully 'before' the end of the world.

I think Chris Ivey would make a good judge.
(I wanna hang with the cool people too)
J
PS I like Casey- I do think that the ending of that last show was totally pre planned and fake.
My favorite right now is the dude that kinda sounds like Rod Stewart, with Casey at #2.
If Casey would go back to showing off his musical chops, I'd vote for him (not that I actually make a phone call-Coke and Fox don't need my money)

getting in on this a bit late....
anyone notice how the sound really is awful this year on idol?? so anemic
band is not the same...they tried to screw them a few years ago on the reuse money for DVD sales so i am betting that all of the tracks are pre record and the band just playing along. it just does not sound right at all. no live feel even though you can see some players in the back ground.
maybe things will change up a bit later when they get down to fewer kids.

I had the opposite impression, namely that the sound is better this year. That made me think that it might be too good for live sound and was therefore studio pre-recordings. But in fact the band you see on TV is almost entirely playing live.Bill Hatcher wrote: anyone notice how the sound really is awful this year on idol?? so anemic

jennifer is WAY to nice to be a judge...but she is better than ellen..and besides...does ANYONE really believe you can win a recording carrer on a game show....IDOL is nuthing more than a popularity contest for people with fast fingers and to much time on there hands....just my opinion
