Please post your preferred seat of choice, and list pros/cons. If I left out your Brand, I apologize.

BTW, thanks for doing this poll...I may need another seat for my seat, and if the poll is large enough would be interested in what the preferred brand is.

I use a high-speed Tama drummers throne with back rest. Very cushiony and wide and excellent for long stints on the geetar.

I'm still using an ACE seat that I purchased back in the 1970's. I've had the cushion re-covered once.

Just a regular keyboard bench...it's light, comfortable, looks good, and works just fine.

I have 2 different, collapsable, height adjustable, piano benches. Cheap, lightweight, and comfortable.

Found a metal folding chair at Price Chopper for $3. Put a cushion on it; it's just the right height, weighs about a pound, doesn't take up much room in the car...
I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com

Carter "student seat"--but the welds holding the feet on came undone after a couple of years. I fixed it with wood and epoxy.

Me too, except mine hasn't had the cushion recovered, and it looks it.

I usually use a Steelers Choice with a sidecar and back rest but Thom built this one for me a few years ago. Heaven bless his soul.

I use a Roc n Soc drum stool, it's just as comfy but smaller than a steel seat, i already carry an effects pedal case with room for anything else I might need.

I've been using seats from SteelSeat.com from the git-go, first with WC, then Thom, and now Joe Naylor. They get my vote. My Original, on the right, was built by WC, and my new Lite, on the left, is Joe's handiwork.

I voted Sho-Bud, but it's not really. I got it from the Jackson Guitar Company store in Nashville 1982. I was there on a weekend excursion and stopped in to buy a L705 and a seat. They had to build the seat and send it to me about a week or two later. It doesn't have any logos on it and has the folding tubular legs. I don't know who built it, all I talked to was the girl at the counter.

I've had more popular brands with and without backrests, but this one is wider and longer and is more comfortable. It's a little rough, and the cushion has been covered at least twice, but I'm still liking it.

I'll have to test drive some others soon though, 'cause this one is getting long in the tooth.

Back in the 70's I bought a Fulawka pak seat from Ed. Just last year I refinished the box and replaced the seat foam and cover. Not bad investment eh? Still looks good, solid and holds what I need.
