Our band played a Show tonight and some of the band members read this Forum. They told me I am supposed to play a big show with them Saturday night October 2nd. This is the same night as I am scheduled to play the Baxter Springs Steel Show. I did not remember--I guess old age is screwing up my memory. I want to play on this great steel show! Is it at all possible that I could play on Sunday? Is someone willing to trade spots with me. HELP!

Sorry I didn't remember that I had a previous engagement on Saturday. Ray, thanks so much for working me in on Sunday. I will be happy to play at the 11:15 time slot.

clarification

Didn't mean for this to sound like this was all Jean's idea. I also felt that as a non-seasoned player, that I could perform better at a different time slot. Ray, I totally understand and appreciate your dedication to your regulars. Thanks, Larry B.

Hey Larry, sorry I didn't get your e-mail. The players list is pretty well set in concrete right now. If there happens to be a cancellation, you'll be first in line for it. Most of the players have been coming since we started and I have to give them priority in their spots. Looking forward to hearing you and Jean. Ray

Jerry, the problem that I'm having is that the programs are being printed by the printer already and I can't change them. If you want to change with Larry, that's OK, but it'll have to be done the weekend on the show. Ray

Good News, Bad News

Post by Larry Baker »

Good News: Jean has been asked to perform at Pearls Dance Hall in Ft. Worth, Tx. with Leona Williams, Amber Digby, and others at a special event on the Baxter week-end.

Bad News: This means that we will not be able to attend the Baxter Springs Show.

Ray, I apoligize having to cancel, and had nothing to do with the time slot, I was looking forward to it, and thank you for the opportunity to play.

Jerry F. I really appreciate you offering to trade spots, but this is something I have to do for Jean. All of you guys and gals have a great time. I know you will. Larry Baker

Larry & Jean, sorry that you had to cancel out but if I had a chance to play with Leona & Ron & Amber, I'd cancel too! :o Have a good time and see you all down the road. Ray

Jerry, not to worry about Fred. I've been sending him donations so that he can eat at Burger King until time for the show!

Bill, thats a goodern! By the way, did you play "someone to give my love to" last night? Ray

No and there's a little lady in Siloam thats not too happy about it either. Bless her heart, she had it down pat but I couldn't get any of the rest of the band interested in picking up the bridge chords so I passed. I guess she and I could have done it and had them take a coffee break if they were too busy to learn it. - :)
