Back in early July,in Los Angeles, Last Train Home taped a segment for the CBS Late Late Show (the one after Letterman) ... they are finally going to show it!
Well at least it seems official- it's on the <a href="http://www.cbs.com/latenight/latelate/">"CBS Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" website...<a> but it has been listed before (first week of August) and then got postponed
We played the song "Dogs on the East Side" from our latest CD "Bound Away". I play a prominent Steel Guitar solo in the middle (whoo hoo).
It will likely air in the last 10 minutes of the show, so if you can't stay awake, set the TiVo or the VCR
As they say in the TV biz, Check your local listings for times...

alas indeed Ted... I was out of town with no TV/cell phone/internet (ahhhhhh!) for the original air date- if it HAD aired I wouldn't have known til afterwards...<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Dave Van Allen on 24 August 2005 at 12:16 PM.]</p></FONT>
I'm right downstairs here at Television City and I miss everything two floors up! Even if I look on the website early in the week, the Late Late Show adds cool guests later. (Not that employee rubbernecking is encouraged...) This just slipped past me, but there it is on the spine of the Show #0109 (7/1/05) tape case, the notation: "Pretape Last Train Home 'Dogs on the East Side' for future." I'll be watching--probably on both Eastern and Pacific time.
(Any forumites playing on the Late Late Show here at CBS Television City*, pick up an extension, dial 2294 and say howdy.)
(*--Also recorded here: So You Think You Can Dance, Real Time with Bill Maher, American Idol (I *know* it airs on Fox), Rock Star: INXS, The Price Is Right, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, Tyra Banks (coming this fall)...)

Dang Ben... wish I'd known... I'll know next time !
I got off the elevator on the wrong floor on the way out of TV city and ended up backstage at Price is RIght... saw the back of the big wheel!
they still ain't got the Late Late Show website quite right- still has last friday's date, but this friday's lineup... but we're listed...
If I'd only known the guy who came up with "ZB Jeebies" wuz in da house!
And all those pics of my ZB D-10 (soon to be Dave Zirbel's) littered promiscuously throughout the 781-post ZB thread were taken here at TVC (you can see some film cans and boxes in the background of some--archival film prints of "I Love Lucy," although notations on the boxes may not be visible. It wasn't here in July, so you didn't miss meeting the Hannibal Lecter of musical instruments.
Very nice Dave.. I told you before that I felt LTH was a world class band, and you guys reinforced that opinion.. Very appealing, interesting and unusual take on the "alt country" genre'...Really good pedal steel/horn and guitar interplay ,with fine vocals and a rock ribbed rythmn section. Sweet !
That performance was a "feather" in your collective caps!... btw.. I was lusting after the guitarists Tele Custom... I wish you all the best in your future with LTH.... bob<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Bob Carlucci on 26 August 2005 at 10:42 PM.]</p></FONT>
I watched it, and enjoyed it. Good playing and the singers voice is quite good. There were some good shots of the steel and steeler, hope the exposure does good things for the band.

I actually remembered to tune in to Late, Late, and saw you guys. It was classic LTH, and there were some nice shots of DVA doing a ride. Good performance. I'll see you guys tonight for the whole show.

DVA, you guys were great at World Cafe Live Saturday night. Great singing, great playing, great originals, and I loved the occassional classic gem like "When the Last Teardrop Falls." My other half was very impressed. If these guys play anywhere close to you, I strongly advise seeing them. And they have some great CDs.
