Emmons Bellcranks.

Just wondering a few things. Is there any other steel company that uses the bellcranks and connectors like an Emmons all pull has ( the 14 hole bellcrank )? And I found a Legrande that has a 14 hole bellcrank but I thought they all had the 4 hole bellcranks and then they put the 14 hole on the Legrande 2?? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.

Bobby, mine is missing the sticker that says what model it is. It's an SD-10 with a D-10 endplate (hole cut for rear neck) and 14-hole bell cranks. Serial #1088L.

Is this a LeGrande or a LeGrand II?

Bob, yours should be an LII. I'm 99% positive it is.However, it would have been labled a Lashley Legrande.FWIW, The solid endplates started in 98 or 99.

The guy who sold it to me thought it was made in 1994, but he wasn't sure. Does that sound right to you?

Most of the Lashleys had the narrow fret markers and chrome colored pedal rod ends? However some of the guys changed the fret boards, painted the pedal rod ends. And went with an LII decal.

Never seen a true LII with narrow fret markers and un-painted pedal rod ends.

AS I wrote before. Anything over 1000 is almost for sure an LII.

A lot of folks don't know that there are 2 styles of 14 hole bellcranks. The first ones where machined and about twice as thick as the type they chose to mass produce. This was in mid 1990. Hal Rugg got the 1st guitar. I the second. There were a few more. Just don't know how many. In 91 and maybe early 92 Emmons used the 14 hole cranks on some guitars. And 4 hole cranks on others.

These 14-hole bell cranks are not thick, and they don't appear to be machined. Thanks for your knowledgeable input, Bobby. I'll refer to it as a LeGrande II from now on, and say "probably 1992" as the date.

This guitar does not appear to have any modifications. Yet!
