Saw a couple of good games yesterday. I'm pulling for Brazil just because it's the only country left that I've been to. Good luck, Mike.

I'm totally into World Cup soccer. I grew up in one of the greatest soccer towns in the USA: Kearny, NJ, and played against many very fine players as a teen. John Harkes went to high school with me, although he is a few years younger, as did Tony Meola.

Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with USA's elimination, but there are some great games to be played yet.

Iv'e been watching the football where i can, no-body carries it 24-7 so i watch the spanish channels and mute it for an hour and a half. The mexican channels cover it 24-7, just so you know mates living in the USA!!!
ESPN 2 played it tonight with Portugal and a spain, we had some english bloke comentating so i was able to follow it, other that that it's silent movies i'm afraid!
Brazil tommorow, a fantastic world class team as always. The U.S.A played great dispite of the results, i watched every game and no-body sucked!! This is a tough stage men!!
Kick rear lads!!

As a steel player, I'm atleast at the games...doing sound and AV for one of the big venues at the Cape Town Convention Center, where all the games are screened on massive screens.....Just across from the stadium where a few of the games are being played.

Yes Ariel, you're right...
The Second is Ronaldinho Gaucho....and the first ....PELÉ....The third is Ronaldo the phenomenon , Robinho is the fourth, the fifth is Neymar and so on,...But, I prefer the football from Argentina, seems more serious than Brazil.
I wish Good luck to you....

Argentina are looking very good, Brazil too. Pleased to see the interest up in the USA - bars in NYC were packed with people watching USA v Ghana last weekend.

Unfortunately Wales didn't make it to the tournament... :\

Pulling for Argentina. When I was a kid, Diego Maradona meant as much to me as, to put it in steel terms, Buddy Emmons means to everyone here. Meaning I wished that one day, when I grew up, I could play like him. If he wins it as a coach and a player, that would be historic.

I was fortunate enough to see the great Pele play many times (though he was past his prime) and Franz Beckenbauer and Jomo Sono, and many others. I love to see the great players of today, but I'm a little disappointed that Ronaldinho was not invited. Messi is excellent, maybe not quite as good as Maradona, but then again he won't have the "hand of God". :)

It was a bit slow to start, apart from Spain vs North Korea.(Wouldn't like to be in their shoes when they get home!) It's picking up now. At the beginning you'ld be forgiven for thinking there was only one team there going by the coverage on EBC...I mean BBC. Thank Christ they got their arses booted. I least we in Scotland know we are crap.

Although Brazil Has good football players, I never liked the way they play, I prefer football from Germany and Argentina.
I Believe That Brazil is a team of ladies  commanded by a football coach too stupid, He is born in the South and there is a lot of delicious barbecues. I would not eat the barbecue made by someone called Dunga, Probably a. .... &*%@.....
Kaka is a girl, Felipe Melo a dinosaur :alien: and so on.
Germany is Probably the next World Champion team, with many merits.
Justice was done ..... so long ago Brazil is not the best.
At least the next election for president here in Brazil will have another winner . World Champions don't know how to vote for president. :alien:

Faking injury is about the only thing I can see in common with soccer and steel playing.
I had more but somebody spilled coffee on the script.

I've been trying in vain to get that classic vuvuzela sound from my Emmons. Has anyone succeeded? Need help.

Sheet music here. Might I suggest fuzz tone, delay, reverb, stereo panning and a Boss VZ-1 pedal (should they ever make one).

Ha Ha ,you are great BoB !!! The vuvuzela's sound is the worst thing I heard in my life, the players say they can't heard between them in the field .
:D C'mon Adair.....that was only bud luck....now I can say brazil was the best team in this cup,see you in the cup of America .
This cup is now open for everyone without brazilians....my favorite is Argentina of course but to be honest I can imagine a surprise...don't overlook Uruguay and Paraguay , they play with strong caracter and I guess they can win spain and Netherlands who plays most beautifully....germany depends of us.
