Charles,
In who's hands would you place the preservation of country music? You may think of the brilliant steel guitarist who collaborated with The Rock and Roll Band known as "Dire Straits" (Sp. close, but maybe no cigar). Nah! Not a chance! In another bracket of personality changers, it isn't difficult to find a swarm of bee-like creatures circulating, and ostensibly searching for that sweet nectar that converts into cash flow. Neither would they be suited for influencing the preservation of, Quote: "Sappy three chord country songs." It has been drilled into the heads resting on promising entities, to wit: "All good things must come to an end." It may be reasonable to think that those who go about reciting those familiar words, over and over: "Preserve for future generations", are the least likely subjects to carry the ball faithfully.
The familiar outcry, expressed in many different ways, over time, condenses into a staticky compulsion. Observe for a moment, the various accounts of treatments meted out to elder members of the Opry. "Death On Music Row", was apparently picked up by Jones, Strait, and Jackson for delivering a message that all is not well, as Nashville's hometown country music collides with opportunists. They never fail to spring up to share in the gates intake of curious waves of nonconformists paying big bucks to see for themselves the changes in country music formats. I can't believe that borrowing, and believing in those who display so much grandeur in sophisticated musical settings, will not trip on this currently venturesome approach to expanding, by investing in what may turn out to be another investment with bankers monies. Once again, not a safe place for the preservation of "3 chord country."

The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being.

Undoubtly the crowning fecal expulsion so far from the top of mr Hankey's perilously high soapbox......you really should where a parachute up there.Bill Hankey wrote:Charles,

Gary,
Thanks for your outflow of energy and interest. The "COLORISM" of the threads tend to be associated with a combination of negative and positive posts.. submitted at intervals set to be spurred on by a variety of moodiness to gore a concept, with the might of determination to do so. I try not to resist as the forces overrun the fortress of rationale.

Et Al
Let me be the 2nd!!
Please reference some of the quotes below:
"if he were a woman he would probably like being spanked, and may anyway"
"You ever consider bottling that crap and selling it as a laxative?"
With all due respect, is this really neccessary?
Please, I hope we are all adults here.
Personal insults, like these from the Wolf pack, can & do great harm to many others on this great Forum.
I've seen other forums lose wonderful people because of this type of behavior.
No problem disagreeing with someone and with great vigor, but out of frustration, stoop to this?
This is High School 101..it's not funny....and that's the perception of you when you rely on these types of statements to vent....Further, when one stoops to this , he's the one that loses respect!!
In many Professional & Non-Professional venues, personal insults, vulgur comments and many like them as directed at Mr. Hankey and others here would be considered "Harrasment &/or Intimidation".....Just not acceptable!
I too have differences with BH's writing style but I and many of us respect his right to express himself without being subject to personal insults and harrasment.
Moreover, none of us are perfect, including me......With the overall state of this world, many of our brothers & sisters past and present are dying, injured or lost fighting for our right to speak/write freely in freedom and without harrasment!!........Vist a Vet hospital someday, gurantee you won't take this subject lightly........
Nothing personal intended!!

joe..just go back and carefully read 'everything' bill has written since becoming a forum member..if you survive that and still take any of this seriously... i'll think of something else to tell you.
be sure not to miss the epic small print story sandwiched between his ramblings on one thread...one of my finest works!
in my opinion bill's discombobulated contrivances are more abusive than any personal attacks.

Chris ,I have known Bill long before he ever became a Forum member..I'm originally from Sacramento (born in Roseville)and when I was in New England Bill is one of the people that helped me gain popularity as well as introducing me to Steelers when I needed one..I do read his post and don't answer many because the man does truly know more about Steel than i'll ever learn..Also the Bill I know is a very nice man and I see a lot of mis-understanding of him on his post..I don't pretend to understand all the words he uses (I barely made it through Christian Brothers High on Broadway in Sac) but nothing he post offends me..There are those on the Forum that can't wait to attack him after each post,But we as humans tend to attack what we don't understand...Whether its Bill or someone else I see no reason for personal attacks..

I know there's no way anybody could read all of the Hankey threads without something bad happening like their brains exploding or something. Climbing Mt. Everest in a speedo would be a much easier task.go back and carefully read 'everything' bill has written since becoming a forum member
But when Chris used words like:
Now I am startled.... Maybe Chris has read all of the Hankey threads and he's now using those big 75 cent Hankey words in his normal life.. Terrible situation...If that's the case, I'll never read another one of Bill's threads again.discombobulated contrivances
In fact, is there some sort of electroshock brain flushing therapy or medication I can take to prevent this type of Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis?

Here is a Blues tune by Bill Hankey entitled:
“I'm confident, have slipped past those numbering in the thousands, as a result of wheedles by off-the-wall exponents of diversified entertainment. If you are torn between country and rock music, it would be a waste for me to present a true country sound. It looks as though my intuition has paid off handsomely, as far as my judgment of who's who in this column. Those in hog heaven will answer. They owe me nothing.”
As I said that was just the title. The song goes like this
You just a
/[A13]mossy criticaster /[D9] testing the /[A13] cheese /[A13] right off the round you just a /
/[D9]mossy criticaster /[D9] testing the /[A13] cheese /[A13] right off the round you just a /
/[E9] slice off the cheese /[D9] but I'm the whole / [A13]round [F7#9]lord yes /[E7#9]I am[Eb7#9]you just a /
