Charles,

Just what everyone needs, a mossy criticaster testing the cheese, right off the round. I should have been surprised when you fell in line with those who will always drag their feet at the classroom entrance. Anyone can find them snooping in the corridors of positive thinking. Positive interpretations of such things as utilizing the steel guitar to enhance country music, I'm confident, have slipped past those numbering in the thousands, as a result of wheedles by off-the-wall exponents of diversified entertainment. If you are torn between country and rock music, it would be a waste for me to present a true country sound. It looks as though my intuition has paid off handsomely, as far as my judgment of who's who in this column. Those in hog heaven will answer. They owe me nothing.

:D Oh boy another fab day....and for breakfast another large bowl of BillyO's, yet as usual, tasteless and completely devoid of nutrition or any other worthwhile content. Hey Charlie welcome to "Hog Heaven" ....nice place here ,only drawback so far is a large fecal storm that seems endless.Rumor has it that a small group of brave and intrepid "criticasters" have discovered the apparent source and have formulated a plan to quelch the awful offal blizzard with a custom made bung plug . Reports say it is shaped like an egg and is made of solid Gold  .....sure hope it works...ps I had a seance and spoke with Jimmie D and Roy Acuff about your adaptation of their song, needless to say they both approved wholeheartedly

Storm,

I haven't the foggyiest notion of what you are driving at. Why are you watering at the jowls to spew such ornery contrivances? For the betterment of those striving to capture the vague semblances of cultural advancements, please back off in the interest of positive thinking. Screwups in these difficult searches to improve a playing style, need no further assists by blundering blindly into the vicinity of a horse made from wood.

Nic du Toit,

I looked for my comment briefly and had no luck. I'm a firm believer that we are totally in the dark about many things. A verbatim quote would be necessary, in order to answer your question.

Nic du Toit,

I could name at least a dozen writers who no longer contribute to my threads. Please allow the thread to fall into disfavor. Thanks for offering to assist in righting a wrongdoing. Rest assured that the suggestion is much appreciated.

Quite honestly, I don't understand why Bill's posts get some people so worked up. If you don't like his posts...simply ignore them. If you don't understand them...learn to understand, or refer to the previous statement about ignoring them. A forum is and open discussion of ideas. Let the ideas flow. The bad ones will soon die out. Now, here is the negative comment. This forum is starting to sound like a town hall meeting full of those "Tea Bagger" folks.

Duncan,

I guess nobody read the part in my post where I said...

I call upon all steel pickin' men and women from all walks of life to support Bill's thread causes with their life-affirming eloquence and indomitable spirit of musical decency and moral righteousness.

Two Wrongs Don't make it right?

Post by Ron Brennan »

Duncan,

What you said!

Personal insults and rudeness do not make it right!
Sure, BH posts can be annoying, amusing & sometimes informative .......but still?

We have one moderator who in his great and infinite wisdom, as he sees fit, will adjudicate as he sees fit. Last I heard, he has not passed and went off into the Steelguitar cosmos!! Nor is our moderator insulting and rude in adjusting excess's.

Seems to me, if you start a post, it's your right to control it. If you want to reply, do so agreeably or disagreeably.

But not rudely or insultingly.....better yet, don't reply, just "Click" and move on instead of "Piling on" with a lynch mob mentality. Just my humble opinion...

Danny, I did indeed read your very nice and thoughtful post. I hope that you didn't take offense, because your post contained no bad vibes toward anyone. It was a thoughtful expression of your opinion as to what was happening.
I'd like to post a definition, albeit, a secondary definition from an online dictionary, as to what a forum is:
2. A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation.
I suppose, all of us non-experts should be quiet, and learn... or not.

I agree with Duncan and Ron. I usually get some entertainment out of BH threads, but this one is a bit startling. As in any form of social network... you make your own choices in regards to who you want to network with.

No, they won't. Once you have gained more experience with BH and his threads, you will question yourself about making a statement like that anymore.

In a strange way, I also enjoy Bill's threads.

Sometimes we all get fired up at Bill but I don't think he's out to hurt anybody... Hopefully he doesn't get hurt by the things everyody say back at him too.

Just because every other word is a "75 cent word" doesn't make him a bad guy.

BTW, I heard he's one heck of a picker too! :)

Charles,

Your poems of humorous inclinations seemingly have captured the interest of several readers of this thread. I can't deny that you do have something of interest, and for a few moments entertain with that suspense of not knowing what you will subscribe to. If you do decide to write, try to abide by the forum rules.

For their kindness, and encouragement, I would thank:
Duncan Hodge, Nic du Toit, Danny Bates, Ron Brennan, Mark Dershaw, Charles Davidson, and LBNL, Ed Alrighter. Many others are quite remarkable in their ability to show their kindnesses in each of their posts. Wishing each of you all the pleasures that creative music can provide.

with the experience i have gained participating in bill's ridiculous threads, it is my opinion that he gets what he asks for. he welcomes and relishes abuse. he sets the stage for chaos. he opens threads with the intention of having them closed. if he were a woman he would probably like being spanked, and may anyway. normal rules of consideration, respect and logic do not apply. this is what he has taught me.
