Little Jimmy

Post by Charles Davidson »

Was nice to see a REAL ledgend on Ralph Emery on RFD tonight. Little Jimmy,a friend of the steel. He and ET [in my opinion] always had two of the hottest bands in country music, Nothing LITTLE about him. He's a GIANT in country music. YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

When I played for Tater, Someone left the rag doll on the bus, he actually walked out in the crowd, a girl gave him her Barbie, and he litteraly brought the house down by doing what he does best, ENTERTAINING! Raggedy Ann

I agree that Little Jimmy and ET had the always had great bands. I'm very thankful for youtube so that we can see these guys at their best. It's a shame that whenever most of the TV stations decide to honor the legends, they either show one of the up-and-comers doing the legends song, or they show a clip of the legend way past their prime, with a pick up band, and folks who never saw them before just can't understand why they are legends in the first place. Thanks to youetube and RFD, we can see some of these guys, who haven't been played in prime time in a while, and understand why they are stars in the first place.

One day saw on my TV guide on a channel [said COUNTRY LEDGENDS] Thought I might see clips of Patsy,ET,Little Jimmy, etc. After sitting through ten munutes of male enhancement ads the first one that came up was Toby Keith, then Tim,Chesney ,Garth, etc. If these are the new ledgends :x think I'll pass. Same with the opry takes nothing now to be a member. Took 40 years for Del McCoury to become a member, Today some little pretty bimbo can sell a gazillion records and right away she becomes a member. Being a member used to be an honor after paying dues for years,Now it's just a JOKE. . YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

Hey Bama,

First time I heard "Raggedy Ann", it was on Jimmy's Country Music Hall of Fame cassette with the both Buddys: Emmons and Spicher. I sit in my car in the middle of Pigeon Forge and cried. Oh how I wish music was still real.

I know I've posted this here before, but there's maybe someone who listens to the radio and doesn't understand what country music really is. Pee Wee Rogers plays this so clean and tasteful. Another one that he really plays some tasteful licks on is "I Love Lucy Brown". It's got the feel about it....no way to learn that from tab or a video. Pee Wee has been one of my favorite players since I heard him the first time. A good singer and a good tasteful player like Pee Wee gets my attention over some blazing speed instrumental any day.
