Any one see the old show with Mr. Atkins on PBS this weekend ? Chet,Mark Knopfler,Willie,Emmy Lou,Everly Brothers and lots more. A GREAT show. YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

It was on here earlier in the week or maybe last weekend. It was a nice program with lots of good music. Although I had seen it before and it was a lovely tribute to his Father, the song Chet did about his Dad was very hard for me to watch.

Even though he didn't invent the style of guitar playing, he certainly took it to a new level, added his own twists and stylings and made a very nice career out of doing that. He influenced untold numbers of guitar players and enthusiasts the world over. Plus, I had forgotten all the great records that he had produced and/or played on. Nice seeing ol' Waylon on there too. Definitely worth seeing again.

PBS is showing some great music programs during their current fund raising drive. Music you probably can't see or hear anywhere else. Programming certainly worth supporting if one has the means.

I've got this on VHS . Did you notice Vince Gill in the audience . Great show...lots of fun and memories .

I had that on video tape until a few years back. It was from '87ish. I'll need to go and see if I can get it on dvd now. Chet's weak singing voice made the song even more poignant. The opening lick still sends a shiver up my spine.

The song Chet sang about his dad is called "I Still Can't Say Goodbye". He did that song in 1987.
