American Idol
Well, no we don't watch it, but we caught wind of the viral video that's been circulating.
As such, this is a great clip....see how long it takes you to figure it out

There is a young man we know here, he was on American Idol (as the Banana Man). He never got before the judges, but did an audition with one of the filming crews. Yet on TV they had his audition taped and with the judges spliced in, rolling their eyes, making disbelieving faces, etc. Simon said with a good grief look "what is this song" like he was talking to a nut cake. This was all edits, the judges were miles away.

it just seems odd that for a contest with explicit age limits (29?) that a 60+yr old is getting so much air time. as simon says (?) 'this song may be a hit" or whatever...it wouldn't surprise me if he's involved in some money angle.
by the way, what ever happened to the 'chicken catcher' guy who won 'merica's got talent?

According to Wikipedia, Kevin Skinner received the $1 million prize, which was put into an annuity so it will be paid out over 40 years, and a headline show in Las Vegas, premiering in October 2009, and hosted by Jerry Springer. He has announced that his debut CD, containing several of his new songs, will be released by April, 2010. He performed "If Tomorrow Never Comes" on The Tonight Show with Conan O' Brien on September 17, 2009.

Now, like the rest of us musicians who might win a million dollars, he can play 'til the money runs out.

I kept meaning to take a picture of the billboard or/and marquee of that show here in Vegas. The billboard has a big picture of Jerry Springer and some half naked dancing girls, advertising the "America's got Talent" show. It list all kinds of acts and appearances, then at the very bottom on the right hand side is has little yellow spot on the ad, and says in very small print "Featuring Kevin Skinner".Barry Blackwood wrote:According to Wikipedia, Kevin Skinner received the $1 million prize, which was put into an annuity so it will be paid out over 40 years, and a headline show in Las Vegas, premiering in October 2009, and hosted by Jerry Springer. The way they built it up on the show you thought the winner was going to get his own headliner show on the strip in Vegas. Then you see the billboard and ads for it, and it looks like that almost forgot to put his name on it.
