Damn PURDY!!! b0b...
I went to see Chuck's band last and told him that you were so impressed that you'd mentioned it on the "Forum.
He sure makes a fine guitar...also...his band is by far the best band that I have ever seen!!

It turned out that there were some aspects of his Desert Rose stock design that Chuck couldn't change as much as I had hoped. The string spacing is ~11/32", fairly average for a pedal steel. I wanted 3/8" but it just wasn't in the cards this time.

I hope to make a recording next week. I've only played it through my Princeton so far. My initial impression is that it has a bright, old-timey sound, like the steels of the 1950's. Pretty cool.
The copedent is just awesome to play. The transition between E9th and C6th styles is almost entirely mental. I just move my foot into the P1 & P2 position when I want those E9th sounds. The knee levers are all used for both styles.

Congrats Bob! What is the scale length, gauge strings, pick-up type and weight? Neat ideas that look like they're flawlessly implemented. Can you please post close-up pics of the changer and undercarriage? Thanks for sharing!

My camera doesn't do close-ups very well. Sorry.
The pickup is a Truetone, I think. That's what it looks like. Not sure about the scale length - I'd have to measure it. My string gauges are 13, 15, 18, 22, 26, 34, 38, 50.

Sweet Axe b0b.
Congrats on being the designer of an innovative new pedal steel guitar copedent.
Kudos to Desert Rose for building it to your specs.
My Sho-Bud has a Desert Rose undercarriage and I love the way it's so easy to change the slots on the bellcranks.
I especially like their "Delta Blues" design.
Here's a link to anybody that hasn't seen their site.

Moving the F#'s instead of the B's with the right knees is interesting & different - reasoning?

Very fine looking steel b0b! I just happened to catch the BIG Tuning Wrench on your amp and hope the wrench works for on new Desert Rose? Standing by for a recording or two of it. Carl
