I just bought a used BMI SD-10 4&6 pedal steel (thank you Brian Pelky!) and it has "SER 999" written on it. I assume this means it's the 999th one made? Are there any BMI guys here that could tell me more about this steel guitar? Just curious if there are any records on it. All I know is that apparently it's a 1981 model, and that it is black so it sounds better
UPDATE: When I got the guitar, it was set up with a typical Jimmy Day copedent. Bent Romnes and I just finished converting it to the more common Emmons setup. Bent is a super guy for showing me how to do this! Thank you Bent!
Thank you also to everyone else who has helped me enter into the world of pedal steel! I have lessons lined up with Bob Egan of Blue Rodeo too which is cool. Between lessons with Bob, Bent, Mickey Adams, and having access to the awesome community here, I am very excited to get started
All the best!
Jesse
