I knew that would grab your attention.
Did you send in your registration form yet?
Really folks, if you are planning on attending HSGA Joliet 2009 PLEASE send in your reg forms ASAP. The Joliet coordinators need at least a ballpark head count so they can tell the caterers how much poi to pound.
Don't forget - JOHN ELY is the guest of honor this year. He'll play a set each day of the show and he is required by law to remain on-site at the Holiday Inn for the entire three days. This is your chance to pick his brain with your steel questions.

Jerry Byrd often spoke of the "ptah".
Do you really think he was talking about bar technique?

Gerald, I thought you were going to brag again about sleeping with all the hula dancers at last years HSGA convention
I had a great time last year and wish I could attend again this year. But I'll see you in Cerritos,Ca. at the Uke Festival. It's just a few miles from me. Are you bringing your steel?

Yes Garry, I did sleep with ALL of the Milwaukee hula dancers at last years Joliet convention. It was about 3 AM and I fell asleep in the jam room - all the gals were there.
Yep, I'm on the bill for the
8th Annual Southern California Ukulele Festival - Oct 3, 2009 in Cerritos, California. I am in the Saturday night concert and will conduct two Swing Ukulele workshops during the day. And yes, I'm bringing my 1954 Fender Champion steel and will play it on stage!
