Kevin Skinner on America's Got Talent

Post by Billy Tonnesen »

Was this another "sleeper" the America's Got Talent judges knew nothing about. This guy knocked the audience out with his singing regardless that he he looked and talked like he just fell off the turnip truck. KEVIN SKINNER was just great !

Here we go again. The Susan Broyles thing worked in UK so now they've got the Kevin Skinner deal going here. He is a good singer. He made a big deal out of being a songwriter. I hope he does some of his own material next time. I watched the show, and it was very entertaining, but it was obvious to me that it's a very staged process. Hundreds or thousands of contestants to try out, and they allowed some of the worst of the worst to be on TV. Entertaining and well produced....just like wrestling. I do enjoy it because it's got different acts than just singers. That guy reading his poetry really had me sitting on the edge of my seat.

"Touch My Heart" was written by Johnny Paycheck.

Rick:.
The more I thought about it after my short post, I completly agree with your take on it. Some of the acts they get on this show are just a step above the old "Gong Show" and some are worse ! They evidently do this on purpose.

IMHO, he was okay, a little pitchy. He's no massive talent like Paul Potts or Susan Boyle though. There, I said it.
